Bonnet Time

Fall is in the air. Bonnet time is coming.

These cute little bonnets for our HV friends were designed by my mom. She didn't think they would fit mice but my son and I discovered yesterday that mice can wear them as well!

Accidental Invention

I heard once that most inventions are either accidents or experiments gone wrong. But up till a few days ago, I never really experienced this myself.

Earlier in the week, I was making one of the cable Hazel Village sweaters for a friend. I had to switch to a different skein in the middle of it, and since it was late and the lights were on, I didn't notice the subtle difference in the color. In the morning though, it became clear that those two skeins must have been from totally different dye lots. The bottom part of the sweater looked really off.

I went ahead and undid the mismatched part and searched high and low to find the same shade of yarn. It turned out I had only a little bit of this shade left, not enough for a whole sweater. So in the end,  I decided to make a cropped cardigan instead of a full length sweater.

I didn't expect much but I really (REALLY) like the result. These cropped cardigans are perfect over HV linen dresses.

See for yourself.

Cable Sweaters for Hazel Village Friends

This summer, my kids and I rediscovered Hazel Village and fell in love all over again with their cute little animal friends.

I spent the last weeks of August making rainbow colored cable sweaters for our Hazel Village friends and got so hooked up that I now have my head full of other designs I want to try.

Welcome to the World of Yarnspiration

My mom told me once that I learned to knit before I could write. Which seems about right because my first memories of me knitting clothes for my yellow plush teddybear go back to my preschool years.

Now, many years later, I am still knitting for dolls and toys. My kids' ones, my friend's ones, and some of mine, too. Over the years, I've added sewing to my list of hobbies as well.

I am inviting you all to join me as I follow my yarnspiration and work on my new creations.
